Description: Tricalcium phosphate is produced through precipitation from calcium chloride and sodium phosphate solutions or by calcination of bone ash, serving as a multifunctional calcium phosphate compound with 38-40% calcium and 18-20% phosphorus content. It is widely used as a food anti-caking agent (E341iii), pharmaceutical tablet diluent (direct compression grade), and biomaterial for bone grafts (β-TCP phase, porosity >60%). Its high thermal stability (>1000°C) and low solubility (0.002g/100mL) make it ideal for ceramic glazes and slow-release fertilizers, while nano-sized TCP (50-100nm) shows enhanced osteoconductivity in dental applications.
